Our First Two Trips

 When we got the RV, we knew we needed to take a few small test trips to really learn all of the ins and outs of our rig.  Owning is definitely different than renting,  and driving a Class A is a bit trickier than the Class C we rented last summer.  

Our first adventure was a little RV park right off the highway in Shatlesville, PA. Our intention with going there was to visit Hawk Mountain, but we didn't have a tow behind car yet, and breaking camp to visit the mountain seemed silly.  So we just spent 2 days hanging around the RV park and learning about our RV.  But the coolest thing about the trip was the sign we got.  The RV park wasn't very full, and the spot they assigned us to was surrounded by a ton of empty spots.  They could have easily assigned us to any of the others.  We pulled into the spot and saw a huge tree stump in the back.  When we looked at it, that's when we saw it.  Carved into the top of the heart shaped stump was "L+P".  If that's not a sign that we made the right decision buying an RV, I don't know what is!  

 

Next trip a few weeks later was to Ringing Rocks Family Campground, right down the road from Ringing Rocks Park.  I drove our minivan behind the RV since it wasn't far, and so we wouldn't be stuck carless at the RV park.  It was a very nice, well maintained campground.  A bunch of their family activities were closed, but the pool and playground were great (it was the first time the kids had been on a playground since quarantine started, and Sarah especially was in heaven!)  

The highlight of the trip was our visit to Ringing Rocks Park.  It's a giant field of boulders, and many of the rocks, when hit with a hammer, will ring like a bell!  There is also a hiking trail that leads to a waterfall.
