Another week in Tucson down, and it's almost time to move on. Pat is in full swing with his University of Arizona commencements and he has a few more to do between now and Tuesday. And then Wednesday we head north!

Monday through Thursday of this week was mostly campground fun after school. The number of kids in the campground peaked early in the week, and slowly families have been leaving one by one to head home for the summer. The kids didn't want to leave the campground and miss out on time with friends, so we stayed close to home and the kids went to all of Miss Sabrina's events. This campground is like a cruise ship on land, haha. Some of the highlights were Splash Pad fun, building cardboard box castles, Trivia Night (Team Bunch of Muppets won 3 of the 5 rounds!), musical chairs, and a paper airplane contest.
On Friday night, we visited Trail Dust Town. Daddy was able to sneak out of work early and join us :-) It was a cute little old west town. We got there early to walk around a little, but the real reason we went was to see the Pisteleros Wild West Stunt Show. It was so incredibly cheesy, but we all LOVED it (well, most of us... Sarah was not a fan of the loud gunshots)

Saturday, the kids and I went to the East District of Saguaro National Park. This park has an 8 mile driving loop that brings you around the park. Unlike the West District, this loop was paved, but also full of hills and turns, and the kids were whooping it up like we were on a (20mph) roller coaster. Having been to both sides of the park now, I can say that I liked the drive in to the west park better (through the Tucson Mountain Park), but the landscapes of the East can't be beat. We weren't intending on getting out of the car at all (it was already mid day), but we had to when we came upon Javelina Rock. It was a cool group of big rocks, perfect for climbing, with tons of little trails connected between them. We spent about 15 minutes scrambling around the rocks before we started to fry and headed back to the car.

On the way back from the National Park, we stumbled on an awesome park in the middle of Tucson. We spent a little time playing on a huge shaded playground. As we were leaving, we saw that there was an even bigger playground on the other side of the park. It was too hot to stay, but we scoped it out and will plan to come back after dinner one night next week.
Saturday night, Zach had a very important job: Daddy's work assistant. We brought dinner over so we could all eat together (we haven't seen much of Daddy this week), and then Zach and Daddy went to work while Sarah and I hung in the Athletic Director's box so we could watch the start of commencement (and Sarah could watch Disney channel on the directors tv, ha). The girls went home after it started, and Zach was thrilled to get to stay up late working.
Sunday is pancake breakfast day at KOA, so after sleeping in a bit we went to eat and now are hanging at the RV. Everyone's a little wiped from yesterday, so it will likely be a low key day. Then we have 2 days of school before we pack up and head to Northern Arizona. We'll be staying 2 nights at Williams, AZ, and then next weekend we'll be in the Grand Canyon. I've been waiting for next weekend for YEARS and am so excited!
